One of Three Groundbreaking Fetal Therapy Centers in the U.S
As one of three major comprehensive fetal therapy centers in the nation, The Fetal Care Center has a reputation for excellence. It is the only center in the Midwest to offer therapy for a full spectrum of fetal conditions, including open fetal fetoscopic surgery. In addition, we are equipped to respond to the most critical cases, providing access to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and the expertise of an experienced surgical team.
Elevating the Quality of Perinatal Care
University of Cincinnati Medical Center is proud of our Perinatal Quality Forum, part of the Ohio Perinatal Quality Collaborative, which endeavors to reduce the incidence of maternal and infant mortality. Data has already demonstrated a reduction in patients induced at less than 39 weeks, and we continue to make strides in innovative programs such as the Breakthrough Series Learning Collaborative.
Supportive Services for Every Need
The Fetal Care Center works closely with referring physicians to co-manage care, no matter the distance. Patients travel many hundreds of miles for care in our center and we take every opportunity to make them as comfortable as possible. Fully committed social workers are on staff to provide family resources at any time during your stay.

Fetal Care Center
The Fetal Care Center provides the highest standard of care in maternal fetal health services for high-risk pregnancy patients. We partner with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Good Samaritan to provide dedicated maternal, fetal and pediatric specialists who work closely with mothers and their families, answering questions, offering support and counseling and providing the most advanced options for care and treatment.
Continuous Blood Glucose Control
University of Cincinnati Medical Center uses the most advanced technology for continuous blood glucose monitoring. The professional continuous glucose monitor (CGM) tracks blood glucose trends in patients over an extended period of time by monitoring glucose levels every five minutes throughout the day, for up to 288 readings. Use of this technology helps our clinicians respond immediately with adjustments in your treatment regimen by identifying problem areas. As an added feature, we provide patients with a direct phone number to report abnormal blood sugars.
OB Ultrasound and Fetal Testing
With five dedicated ultrasound machines and a highly skilled team of board-certified ultrasonographers, University of Cincinnati Medical Center provides the best in OB ultrasound and fetal testing. Patients have access to our on-staff perinatologists who are able to provide same-day results. University of Cincinnati Medical Center is also home to the only telemedicine unit in the area. This cutting edge technology allows care providers to read real-time ultrasounds conducted in other locations. For patients at one of our centers in the surrounding areas, this means immediate access to results and plans of care, transcending physical boundaries between facilities.
